Institutions of the Future - NOSPR and Konserthuset Stockholm Collaboration - NOSPR

Season 23/24

Institutions of the Future - NOSPR and Konserthuset Stockholm Collaboration

We are pleased to announce that NOSPR continues its collaboration project with Sweden, funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Inspiring Culture program:

Institutions of the Future 2023 - a task carried out in cooperation with Konserthuset Stockholm and the Polish Institute in Stockholm.

The next concert as part of the project will take place on May 1, 2023, at Konserthuset in Stockholm. More details can be found here.

In June 2022, activities were held within the project "Institutions of the Future - Collaboration between NOSPR and Konserthuset Stockholm," for which NOSPR obtained a grant from the MKiDN "Inspiring Culture" program.

From June 15 to June 17, study visits, joint rehearsals, and preparations for the concert took place at NOSPR in Katowice. On June 18, a concert of combined Orchestral Academies took place in the concert hall of Konserthuset Stockholm, conducted by Anna Sułkowska-Migoń, the laureate of this year's conducting competition for women in Paris "La Maestra", with the participation of pianist Tymoteusz Bies. The program included Polish and Swedish works: "A Walk by Heart: Britty Bystrom, Piano Concerto in F minor Op. 21 by Fryderyk Chopin in a chamber version, 'Lyric fantasy' by Lars Erik Larsson, 'Summer' from 'Chamber Music No. 5' by Aleksander Lasoń, and 'Little Requiem for a Certain Polka' Op. 66 by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. The concert garnered great interest from the audience and was well received. The realization of the project was actively supported not only by the main project partner - Konserthuset Stockholm but also by the Polish Institute in Stockholm, who provided promotional support for the concert.

Due to the successful completion of the first concert and the possibility of organizing an additional event, the realization of the second concert at Konserthuset Stockholm took place on December 4, 2022, preceded by study visits and master classes. This time, participants from another edition of orchestral academies took part, presenting works by Witold Lutosławski, Krzysztof Penderecki, Wojciech Kilar, Aleksander Lasoń, Karl-Birger Blomdahl, Bernhard Heinrich Romberg, and Valerie Coleman. This concert also received high interest and a wonderful response from the audience. As part of the task, master classes were also conducted by Jan Kotula, and a lecture by Strategic Dreamers was given to participants of the combined Orchestral Academies, discussing contemporary cultural trends and their utilization in the development process of both cultural institutions and personal career paths.

Several study visits were also organized, providing an opportunity for intensive work on the joint project, exchange of experiences in organizing events and conducting scholarship-mentorship programs. These actions, along with the positive reception of the collaboration and project by the Swedish side, guarantee broad and effective artistic and organizational cooperation. They will certainly enable the utilization of combined artistic potentials and experiences to develop both partners towards becoming cultural institutions of the future.

The task "Institutions of the Future - Collaboration between NOSPR and Konserthuset Stockholm" was funded by the MKiDN as part of the "Inspiring Culture" program in the amount of 350 000 PLN.
