Conversations with Death

Before the new season at the NOSPR is in full swing, the Concert Hall will host an extraordinary concert by {oh!} Orkiestra Historyczna, led by Martyna Pastuszka

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, the ensemble, whose main speciality is baroque and classical music, will perform the score written specially for this occasion by Prasqual, one of the most interesting Polish composers of the young generation. The title itself promises a music event in the spirit of his most metaphysical works: Conversations with Death for contralto, basso profondo, recitator, and two orchestras with basso continuo, to the poetry of Jan Kochanowski.

Performers include outstanding soloists: Marta Wryk and Łukasz Konieczny, with actor Paweł Tomaszewski as the narrator.

The concert opens a series of events under the umbrella title For Life or Death, which are on the programme for the next months. For the first time, concerts scheduled for the whole season have been grouped in four thematic lines, forming vast musical narratives. Apart from six thematically related concerts that comprise For Life or Death, other thematic lines planned for this season include: Beethoven 250, Liszt vs. Schumann and Brazil vs. Japan.

Online ticket sale starts on 8 August 2019 at 3 pm.
